529 / Custodial Brokerage Account - one or both?

Hi,

I opened a 529 and custodial brokerage account via Schwab for my 5 month old. Am I overcomplicating things by also opening the custodial brokerage account and should I just put everything into the 529 account?

If I should continue with both, what is best to invest in for the custodial brokerage account? Thank you!
