LS swap potential here. Got time for some insight?

So, I have a 1981 C10. I have a small block 327 (thought it was a 350, I was wrong), and even though it was “rebuilt “ (allegedly), it’s at least going to need to be bored and I’d like a longer stroke. So it will need a bottom end and block work and all the fixings.

The Hot Rod shop down the street (I know them fairly well, they also have a squarebody) has a LQ9 out of an Escalade with 196k with a 1 yr warranty for $1750.

I’m leery of it, but interested. To do everything to the old small block I’m looking at 2k or more to get it where I want it. For the LQ9, I’d need a fuel system, cooling system, a flex plate so it will hook up to the TH350 trans (short term solution), motor mounts, exhaust, and a stand alone computer. Also, some new gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, etc.

if possible I’d like to pull the valve cover and look at the cylinders with my borescope.

What am I missing? And would you pull the trigger? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
