Brand new in box PS5 Pro and Disc Drive addon. CFI-7121

So I have acquired a brand new in box PS5 Pro with the disc drive addon. I know im shit outta luck with the preinstalled firmware being unhackable for the time being. But my question is this...

If I leave it boxed until the installed firmware is jailbreakable will I have any issues pairing the disc drive?

OR

Should I (after blocking FW updates at the router), open it all up now, and pair the drive?
