Workstation in a backpack
I'm trying to build a portable workstation that could fit in a backpack.
The problem is that when I work from home I don't have a stable workstation so I need to work from the kitchen table, on a kitchen chair, without a second monitor and with the necessity to assemble the workstation in the morning, dismantle for lunch, reassemble for the afternoon and dismantle again in the evening.
Plus I need to fit everything in a backpack so that I could store it away and took it with me.
At the moment the situation is like in the photo:
- a big mouse pad that I could roll up (I didn't put the mouse in the photo but it has his space in the backpack)
- a laptop stand that could be closed
- a 3d printed closable phone stand
- a couple of 3d printed blocks to add some height to the back legs of the chair to verticalize the back and to correctly angle the sitting plane
Plus, in a closet at home I keep a foam ergonomic pillow so that I don't have to sit on the hard plane and a wooden laptop support that I build that allows me to work while standing.
I'm quite satisfied with this setup but I have a couple of problems that I'd like to solve:
-
I don't have a second monitor, I'd like to have a portable monitor that could stand on top or on the side of the laptop and that could fit, even with it's support inside a backpack
-
the laptop isn't at eye level, especially when standing, it's better than nothing but not enough. Unfortunately I can't find a foldable support that took the laptop to the right height without forcing me to add an external keyboard
-
the pillow and the standing support don't fit in the backpack, but I don't think that there is a viable alternative to this
Any ideas on how to solve my problems?
