Poem - Paris (to save time, go straight down and read it on link)
As we were sitting at the dinner table under the sparkling Eiffel Tower,
Looking into each other's eyes, so deeply in love.
You weren't lying when you said,
"This is the prettiest eyes I've ever seen,"
Taking my memory back to the morning.
Wrapped in porcelain sheets,
The soft aroma of white roses waking me up.
My day doesn't begin until I see you,
The beauty sleep you were in,
This is the view I cherish every morning.
Fighting the urge to kiss you,
I turn my head towards the snow-white blooms,
Adorned on the balcony in our suite.
The breathtaking view of the tower of love,
Making my surreal dream come true.
I hear shifting and little groans before I said, "Good morning, my love";
"Good morning, ma chérie," he said it back.
My breath must have stopped for a split second,
Hearing that honeyed, deep voice.
Oh, his voice always drives me crazy,
As how quickly I latched my lips onto his.
Skipping the lovemaking part,
We dressed as though Paris was waiting for us.
Walked down a cobbled street lined with flower shops,
Pink peonies, white lilies, lavender bunches, and tiny boulangeries.
As we were passing by a patisserie,
The smell of freshly baked croissants and coffee stopped our legs on the way,
The Parisian breakfast filling up our stomachs.
Went into the Louvre filled with thousands of artworks,
Admiring the beauty of Mona Lisa,
The timeless art, history, elegance, and dreamy culture of the city mesmerizing our intertwined hearts.
Crossing the Pont des Arts, a bridge that feels like poetry itself.
As we wander into Le Marais,
Holding a baguette in one and coffee in his other,
Walking hand in hand through the romantic, aesthetic, and classy old streets.
The air carrying the scent of falafel and perfume.
It makes me frenzy how everything smells either like bakery or flowers.
Scent of crêpes and roasted chestnuts making us hungry,
As we laugh hearing our stomachs rumble,
Leading our steps to the shop.
As twilight paints everything in pink and gold,
I dress up in a flowy red satin gown,
He in his fitted white shirt, sleek coat, and tailored trousers.
We walk along the Seine, soft golden lights reflecting on the water.
As we step into our dinner cruise,
Beautiful rooftop area, a date here feels like stepping into a movie;
Holding my hand so gently, he takes me to our table.
Candlelit table, soft tablecloth adorned with red roses in a vase,
It makes me smile how he always knows what I love.
French wine, gourmet dinner, and soft music playing in the background.
It feels unreal, like the whole city is floating with us.
I was lost admiring the views when he gently touches my hand,
His gaze leading me somewhere.
The lights begin to twinkle,
As the Eiffel Tower sparkles for the first time.
"Breathtaking," I said; "Just like you," he stated,
Earning another smile from me.
Every sparkle feels like a heartbeat,
Like the ones we skip looking at each other.
It is slow, timeless, full of warmth;
Quiet moments, shared smiles, gentle touches,
Feeling like we're the only two people in the world.
He embraces me into his arms,
Taking me into a sweet, light, yet deep and passionate kiss.
Flowing through the heart of Paris,
Passing under old stone bridges, beside glowing street lamps.
It's the kind of memory that stays forever.
Beneath the Parisian sky, by the quiet river;
As we were sitting at the dinner table under the sparkling Eiffel Tower,
This love slowed into something eternal,
Something that we will cherish,
Together and forever.
