genAI has ruined the entire goddamn world

straight up i hate it and everyone who worships it and everyone who markets with it and everyone who’s “innovating” with it because it’s literally demolished my future in barely 3 years

job market’s fucked, a good 50% of online postings are fake and meant to harvest personal info and documents for training purposes now (not to mention that AI-generated resumes have made recruiting nearly impossible too)

every single website and service and app under the sun now has a button you can hit for some personal assistant with a name like Grimsby to fail at parsing basic questions and then ask if there’s anything else you can help with

tech giants who ABSOLUTELY should know better are too busy chasing the almighty dollar and now microsoft has hedged their company’s entire existence on an invasive, inefficient, even-more-unwanted and even-less-marketable version of Clippy with security implications that effectively make windows machines unusable for confidential work

social media is completely unusable because everything is now driven purely by vibes and engagement to keep ad traffic up cash flowing, the only real people left are either ragebaiters or grifters and people like me desperately clinging to memories of what the internet used to be; all real posting nowadays is indignation and self-righteousness and this post itself just reinforces that

oh and everywhere i fucking look i see images and articles and videos and voiceovers and crappy muzak that’s been proudly AI-generated for no good reason than to find every last corner that could possibly be cut. if it’s not advertising a scam product, it’s someone using it out of abject laziness and ignorance. there is not one mainstream use of genAI that improves the end quality of what it’s used for

and i, a broke 25-year-old whose future is rotting away because of sam altman and elon musk’s dick measuring contest, just have to sit and observe all of this shit getting worse and worse while the people responsible make more money in a day’s time than i’m likely to see in my entire life

idk i’m just sick of this shit, we’re happily outsourcing the last of our humanity in an increasingly transactional and soulless existence and i get treated like a luddite over it lol
