Reservist Stuck After BCA/PRT Issues Is RC-2-AC Even Worth Trying?
Hey everyone, annoying reservist here looking for some guidance.
Because of an abrupt break in service while on ADOS orders ( loved the orders ), I couldn’t take my FY25 PRT/BCA. When I got back in October, the government shutdown happened, NRC told me handle it later, and by the time later came, I couldn’t reach anyone in time , it went in as a fail.
I also have BCA failures from FY23 and FY24 (even though I passed both PRTs and would’ve crushed FY25), and the combination led to my recall orders being denied.
My question: with my stats If I submit an RC-2-AC package, is it basically guaranteed to be denied? Is it even worth trying?
My other option after talking with an Army recruiter is to file a conditional release. And if that gets denied, I plan to UA 9 drills, getting admin separated, and then trying to go Army active duty.
For clarity:
- Yes, I got a bonus, but I can pay it back (including taxes) .
- Yes, I’ve tried contacting NRC no response. I’m planning to go in person.
- No, I don’t plan on staying in the Reserves at all. I originally joined because I was relucent , and my recruiter assured me that starting in the Reserves was fine because switching to active duty was “easy".
- I know this is ultimately on me and my own fault .
Just looking for realistic advice on the best path forward.
