Litter box FIASCO

Hello! Im looking for basic potty advice lol It feels dumb to even have this problem but here we go.

I have 2 boxes, but the amount of boxes isnt the problem currently. (I will have more when I move but this is what I can fit for now. Its getting figured out.) It wasnt ever a problem before my trip a few months ago, i left for a week. I had a friend clean the box while we were away, but I guess he ran out of litter while we were gone so he bought a new container of a different brand. We've used it before, years ago. Had no concerns or issues with him buying this brand.

My cat got really stressed while I was gone. Idk what happened but she stopped cleaning her back paws after using the litter box. When I returned from my trip, we started a new routine of having to bathe her because it kept clumping to her paws and she wouldn't clean it, and it seemed like that would cause anyone discomfort. Well she fuckin hated the baths and I dont blame her. She hates the whole thing.

I switched litter brands 3 times. I finally caved and tried non-clumping and I hate it, but her paws are great! House stench is being worked on separately.

HOWEVER Now my other cat doesnt like the nonclumping litter and has peed outside the box. I would like one box unclumping for one cats preferences and one box to be clumping for the others preferences but I dont want the first to use the clumping box and start that nonsense again!!

Im at a loss. I genuinely dont know what to do, I dont feel like I have done enough but I cant think of anything else to try.

Open to anything. First Cat is aged between 9 and 13yo. 2nd cat is 7.
