Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, depending on where or when you are reading this, my fellow shave enthusiasts! What a way to start the day with an absolutely fantastic shave – continuing the #shavedadstrong week with a beautiful routine. This morning’s ritual was a real pleasure, and I’m thrilled to share it with you all. It’s amazing how a well-executed shave can truly set a positive tone for the entire day. The combo felt right..

I opted for a classic two-pass shave this morning, and the Gillette Silver Blue blade, now on its third use, glided effortlessly across my skin. The Master Soap Creations x Shave Dad Louie soap, a phenomenal dupe of Jo Malone Vetiver and Golden Vanilla, was a bit thirsty initially, but once whipped up with the Aka Brushworks brush, it transformed into a slick, creamy lather that provided exceptional cushion and protection. This scent is just divine, a sophisticated cologne vibe that lingered beautifully throughout the morning.

Finishing with the Master Soap Company x Shave Dad Louie aftershave splash (another nod to that amazing Vetiver and Golden Vanilla scent!) and a spritz of Barrett Fragrances Pop 45 – inspired by Reflection 45, with its lovely blend of lavender, sandalwood, and vetiver – really elevated the experience. The Pop 45 is an incredible scent and completed the experience nicely. It was a truly epic shave, leaving my skin feeling incredibly smooth and refreshed.

This shave was a tribute to Jerry (Shave Dad) and a show of support during a challenging time. The soap, a collaboration with Master Soap Creations, required a bit of work to get dialed in—it's a little on the hard and thirsty side—but the resulting slick and creamy lather was well worth the effort. It’s wonderful to see the shaving community rally around its own, and I'm sending all my best to Jerry and his family.
