I'm replacing the hard drive in my laptop with an SSD. How do I get the disk image from the hard drive onto the SSD?
I know it's an old machine but I'm replacing the old 1TB 5200 RPM hard drive in my Dell Insperion Model N5050 laptop with a new Samsung 870 EVO SATA III SSD 1TB 2.5” Internal Solid State Drive. How does one get the disk image from the existing drive onto the new drive so it's bootable and has all my information on it? Do I have to bring it to a guy or is there some trick that I don't know. There's no room for another drive in the laptop so it seems like I've got to bring it to a place that can put two disks in the same machine and run some program or other to copy it all over. I know it's old and all but I don't have the dough right now to get a new one and the disk is reporting errors so I've got to deal with it now.
Thank you in advance for your time.
