High School Bullying Trauma

Discussion

I dont care I said what I said and I meant what I said. As someone who attended from 2018-2022 but remained online in the last 2 and 1/2 years, I had a terrible time at sir wilfrid laurier ci. I got stalked and harassed for 7 months straight all cause I didnt like someone back. I got hated on by random people who I never met or spoken to before. Rumors were spread and made up all the time yet no one would confront me of it, they would just continue to recruit more people to hate on me. I would constantly get stared at and laughed by random people whenever I passed by. Sometimes when I went to ask them if everything is ok, what did I do wrong, or if theres anything about myself I could change they wouldnt even bother making eye contact with me and would just start stuttering. I also got framed as a theif one time in gym class. People who I thought were my friends constantly excluding me and putting me down, and made fun of my goals of going to university. Some teachers were absolutely awful did not teach, would go off extremly off topic the entire period, were extremly rude and would constantly discourage students from pursuing their goals in post secondary. Some teachers thankfully were nice and guided me to do better. I genuinely was so traumatized and still am to this day, to the point that by the time I hit grade 10 I would not speak the entire class and would put my head down. My anxiety worsened so much that somedays I wouldnt even bother attending my afternoon classes and would just run home. Thankfully march 2020 I went online and I never went back. I was so disturbed by this entire experience of high school that I didnt even bother attending my own grad or prom. its been 3 years since I graduated and I have been trying to heal and move on but some days are hard. Overall the whole experience was just very alienating for me. Somedays I will mind my business going shopping or taking public transit and I may come across people from highschool who I have not seen in over 5-6 years since march 2020, they still will stare me down, give me disgusted looks but wont even bother saying a word to my face. This entire experience really disturbed me to the point that I struggled with trusting people again, I would avoid taking extracurriclar activities and I never got the chance to take on new opportunities to help me develop experience and explore my interests. Its cause of this experience I sometimes have panic attacks now even in my sleep and in public spaces. The fact that I went from constantly talking to everyone everyday and participating in class to putting my head down the entrie day and not making a single sound is genuinely concerning. As of now I currently have to seek help from counseling to help me heal and go on with my life. I currently do not talk to anyone from highschool nor will I ever keep in touch with them, and I will most definetly not be attending my own highschool reunion if it were to ever happen LMAO. The school itself did have some nice views but overall the athmosphere and the dark history associated with it truly did make me feel even more disgusted. But this was my experience I am sure there were many other people who had other similar experiences like me and some who had it better cause they peaked in highschool.

To anyone from class of 2022 that went to laurier that is reading this, thanks for traumatizing me and making me feel so alone and isolated :)
