Why are black mambas mouths black?

Okay, so I've googled this in 3 different ways and everything just says "oh their mouths are black to scare off predators!!" And like yeah, I get that, but I was to know what causes it!? Like it's so cool and I wanna know if it's due to their blood or something else!! If anyone has answers I owe you my life.
