Positive Allergy Test but symptoms don't fully align – Seeking advice!

Question

Hi everyone, I’m feeling pretty confused about my recent allergy test results and would love some perspective.

My fiancée and I were dealing with a mold issue at her old apartment, which is what originally pushed me to get allergy testing because we were both feeling sick. The first allergist tested me for almost everything, and the results showed that I’m allergic to dust mites, grass, and cat dander (both prick and blood test).

I’ve been around cats my whole life, but I’ve never noticed dramatic or immediate allergic reactions (like sneezing or hives). The only symptoms I’ve experienced were mild fatigue, headaches, brain fog, chest tightness, occasional dizziness, and a dry or scratchy throat — but I always thought those might be related to my CPAP machine.

I recently got tested again, and this time it came back positive for dog, cockroach, sagebrush, cat, dust mites, mixed weeds, and sheep sorrel (both prick and intradermal). The doctor also ordered a blood test to confirm.

My fiancée has two cats, and rehoming them or drastically changing her relationship with them isn’t an option they’re her babies.

Does anyone else get systemic symptoms (like brain fog, fatigue, chest tightness) from allergies even if they don’t have the classic, immediate reactions like sneezing or hives? How do I make sense of the positive test results when my reactions have always been pretty mild?

If my blood test also comes back positive, what are some sprays, accessories, or things I can buy or do to help minimize the allergy symptoms?

Thanks!
