BAH/OHA and FSA During BMT & Tech School - 1 Dependent in American Samoa

I’m leaving for BMT on February 24, 2026 and had a question about housing allowances during BMT and Tech School. I have one dependent, and my location of record is American Samoa, where we are currently renting a house.

I’ve heard that I might receive BAH or OHA based on my location of record while I’m in BMT and Tech School. Is that true?

My questions are:

• Do I qualify for OHA since I’m from American Samoa?
• Will I receive BAH or OHA while I’m in BMT and Tech School?
• Do I need to submit an application for OHA, or is it automatic?
• Since we’re currently renting a house, what documents would I need to provide?
