I’m thinking about contacting the actor of my favorite movie to tell him how much his performance in it means to me, but he’s problematic

So for the last 10+ years, my favorite movie has been my special interest. It’s been a positive influence in my life and it brings me a lot of joy. It taught me to value my life and loved ones. I also watch this movie very often.

Anyway, I’m thinking about contacting the main actor in it to thank him for being one of the people responsible for giving me joy. But the problem is he’s cancelled. I’m kind of well known for my love for this movie, and I know there are people who would disagree with me doing this. I know it might hurt my image a little. I don’t want to particularly meet him, but I just want to find a way to tell him what I want to say.

I’m currently on the fence doing this, which is why I came to this sub. Any advice would be helpful!
