Help

So I’m coming up on two years sober in January. From a heavy addiction to narcotics. I just landed myself in the ER this week due to gallstones, I have to get my gallbladder removed, and my primary care is telling me that I should be able to take pain medicine after I get out of surgery, I’m trying to explain to her that No this is not an option at all for me. She doesn’t seem to understand. Can someone reassure me that there is other things that they can do for Pain Management also if anyone has ever gone through anything like this sober please let me know.
