Stop buying junk. My no BS best space heater list picks that actually work.

Not all space heaters are garbage, but a lot of them are barely better than lighting a candle and hoping for the best. I've put together a best space heater list with the ones that actually work based on real-world use (and way too much time reading reviews).

1) Lasko tower heater 751320

Lasko sells a ton of heaters, and this one still ranks high, probably because it just works. It’s a simple electric tower heater with a remote and a thermostat, heats a mid sized room ok, now runs for about 60ish bucks. Good pick for renters, small living rooms, or anyone who wants a proven model with loads of user data behind it. It’s not fancy, but it does move air fairly well.

2) Dyson AM09 hot + cool

Got this after my wife got the hair dryer. Love the brand. Both a heater and a fan, so you can use it year round. Airflow consistent, could be a bit better for larger room, but still safety strong, and the design fits modern homes without looking like a toaster on stilts. Price lands somewhere in the low 300s, ouch. Best high end heater fan combo.

3) Dreo space heater DR HSH004

This one still pretty popular. A compact ceramic space heater with five modes and a decent remote. The output is strong, will be fine for a bedroom or small office. Pricing floats around 50 bucks. A get for folks who want reliable heat without all the goofy marketing fluff. The only thing noticed long term noise creep on my older one, but nothing deal breaking.

Quick note. The top three are the heavy hitters that really lead the pack. Everything after that is still solid, just more niche or for specific situations. I’ll probably add a few more as new heaters show up later this winter, so the list stays fresh and useful.

4) GiveBest portable space heater ptc 905

This little brick is everywhere, seriously, and it has a wild amount of reviews. Ceramic heater, small, light, and pretty basic, but it heats up fast. Great cheap heater for offices or dorm style spaces. Price sits around 25 bucks give or take. Durability varies, but that’s kinda expected in this tier.

5) DeLonghi EW7707CM one of the best oil filled radiator heater

Some love them some not. They are slow to heat but they feel great once they’re warmed, and they’re very steady. It’s quiet, efficient for what it is, and ideal for overnight heat because there’s no fan noise. Expect pricing around 120 to 130 bucks. Best for bedrooms, nurseries, or anyone who hates fan noise. Just don’t expect fast heat up.

6) Mr. heater F232000 one of the best indoor propane heater for emergencies

This propane model stays top every winter. 9000 BTU radiant heater, safe for indoor use if you follow the instructions and crack a window. I’ve used it in cabins, garages, and tailgate setups. Start quick and gives strong directional heat. Price usually sits around 90 bucks. Great for off grid or emergency. Just keep the fuel clean and don’t bump it while lit.

7) Heat storm hs 1500 phx with wifi, think this one is the best wall mounted heater for small rooms

A wall mounted infrared heater that you control from your phone, kinda nice if your home runs cold in the mornings. It warms objects more than air, so it gives a softer feel. Costs around 150 buds. Thinks suits people who want clean look without floor clutter. The wifi app can be glitchy at times, but once it’s set it just runs.

8) Dreo DR HSH016 tower fan and heater combo

A solid hybrid unit if you want both heating and powerful airflow. Tall, steady, and has 17 fan levels which is kinda too many but whatever. It heats medium spaces decently and stays quieter than expected. Price hangs around 160 bucks. Good for bedrooms or apartments where you want one unit that does both jobs.

9) Dyna glo WK95C8 best kerosene heater for indoor use

If you need raw BTUs, this one delivers 23,800. Not for everyone, but for garages, workshops, or emergency heating it’s a powerhouse. Typically runs around 150 to 170 bucks. Need ventilation and common sense! Warms big spaces faster than most electric units. I keep one in the shop for backup, tho it smells a little at startup, maybe just mine.

10) Envi LE5012P plug in wall heater

A panel style heater, is fanless, silent, slim, and uses surprisingly low wattage compared to forced air units. Best for people who want gentle 24 7 background heating without noise. Price hovers around 190 to 200 bucks. It won’t blast heat, it’s more like a steady comfort layer. Great for hallways or small home offices. Install is a two minute deal, unless you don't drop the screws around like me :)

Will extend the list this winter, planning to buy a couple more heaters. Just for fun.

TL;DR:

Lasko 751320 – Cheap, proven, not fancy. It just works. Best budget all-rounder.

Dyson AM09 – Stylish and quiet, but $$$. Good if you're rich or married to the brand.

Dreo DR HSH004 – Compact, powerful, solid for bedrooms or small offices.

Mr. Heater F232000 – Propane beast for cabins/garages. Don’t kick it.

Envi LE5012P – Fanless, silent, not a flamethrower. Good for background heat.
