A company that works in my building has shared to my company that I applied for them.

Im wondering if this is illegal and if theres anything i can do because i know my boss now will start being funny with me. Basically I work in a contingency hotel and another company works in the building so i dont know if this affects anything but i appliedfor a role that was somewhere else and they have shared this with my boss
