gf is 100% blind and finch has been inaccessible to her since JULY — and poor responses from finch
my gf and i have been using finch since last year. she got finch plus and has been loving the app…until a few months ago, when it became a broken, sloppy mess for blind users like her.
unlabeled buttons, pop-ups that can't be seen, constant menu changes that always come with bugs, down to the very basics of creating and completing goals.
she and others like her deserve to be seen and to be given the same access those without disabilities have. yet despite several emails to finch staff, they have done nothing to rectify this. they simply brush off her emails to them with the canned PR responses. they didn't even offer a refund for the remainder of her finch plus, despite being unable to even use the app.
so i posted frustratedly on the discord complaining in the app support section, only to receive, again, nothing other than a canned response and generic "we're working on it." and if you're a subscriber? this issue matters even more—you're PAYING to not be able to use the app.
but if they're working on it, why is it still inaccessible? it was mostly accessible back in JULY, but hasn't been since. it's been MONTHS. yet they can put all this development time into creating new items, shop features, and other frivolous, stupid things. the app has become a glorified tamagotchi/dressup game, with barely any focus on the core of the app: health.
i just needed to vent and hopefully give this issue more visibility. devs need to start putting ACCESSIBILITY FIRST. before the fancy features, before the cutesy costumes, it needs to be accessible to EVERYONE.
