Finished Floors Don’t Look Good
For reference this was the first time I refinished my floors so I did some research before hand. Since I have red oak floors I saw that the red hue from the wood might still show after staining. I also saw there were some products that help offset the red before staining.
I asked the initial person who quoted the job if a red hue will show because we’d be going with a light stain and he assured me it wouldn’t, and that after multiple coats it will be fine.
Now after the first coat is applied I clearly still see the red hue. I brought it up to the worker (different guy) and he said “oh yeah it will definitely still show even after the other coats, it’s red oak”
I feel like I’ve been blindsided by this and should’ve been clearer upfront. What are my options here?
