Laser Engraving Color On Aluminum (is it possible)
Hey everyone,
I just picked up the F2 and I’m really enjoying it. A customer asked if I could make laser engraved business cards, and so far I’ve had good results. They also asked if it’s possible to use aluminum business cards and get color on them.
I tested a few aluminum cards without color and they came out great. On xTool’s site, it shows color engraving, but that’s on stainless steel. Has anyone been able to get color on aluminum, or does it only work on stainless steel cards?
There’s a big cost difference between aluminum and stainless steel, so I’m curious if anyone has had success. I ran two test cards and didn’t get any color. I’m not sure if I need to push the settings harder or if aluminum just won’t take color at all.
Let me know what you’ve found.
