Drawdown issues?

We have tried to drawdown our mortgage with the bank. Have been told by the bank and solicitor everything is fine over the last few weeks.We’ve had our documents etc lined up for months while waiting for things to progress. Yesterday funds were due to be transferred in time for today. Today we were told to provide an updated form for our insurance which we did.

Told this morning all was good but turns out our policy is short by 3 weeks. The policy is non convertible ( or however it’s called) so I cannot extend it by a month or 2. I’ve heath issues so it’s not easy for me to get cover.

What am I to do as I’m so upset and worried. Thinking to reduce the term of the mortgage but concerned this will take too much time.
