Scale victory of a sorts and a question

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊

Shot day and official weigh in day is Thursday.

Because last week was Thanksgiving, I indulged on Thursday (obviously), Friday (yummy leftovers + my adult son spent the night and I promised him biscuits for breakfast Friday morning, which obviously required good butter and raspberry jam). Ok. I expected and planned for eating over my calorie budget my a decent amount both days. Saturday was supposed to be back to normal, but instead it was just nuts. I had zero appetite suppression from either the Zepbound or the metformin I take for appetite suppression and which usually provides most of my appetite suppression. The satiety wasn’t sticking either. I basically ate everything in sight, about 1000 calories over budget, which is just insane.

Then Sunday was back to normal.

My calorie budget is set to lose 1.5 lb per week, which I do on average, although the week to week fluctuates a fair amount. I was a little nervous about what today’s official weigh in would show, given last Thursday-Saturday, particularly Saturday, so frankly I was quite pleased to have lost 0.2 pounds because at least it’s movement in the right direction. After 6 months on Zepbound, I’m confident that I’ll go back to losing at my usual rate and that this was just a blip.

Has anyone else had an experience like that where the appetite suppression and satiety were just totally out the door for a day and then everything went back to normal? If I knew what caused it, I’d love to avoid having it happen again. Could the moderate indulgence on Thursday and Friday have caused it? Although since I started Zepbound I’ve had one week long vacation in which I didn’t particularly worry about what I was eating, followed immediately by about a month with several special (indulgent, no calorie counting) meals for the Jewish holidays, a couple of birthdays and our anniversary and my appetite didn’t lose its tiny mind like it did Saturday.
