A Better Life Beyond Online Hate and Distractions

People

Recently, I read about a 21‑year‑old boy in India who had cancer. He wrote bravely about how he was going to fight and win against it. He had dreams, plans, hope. But sadly, he is no longer with us.

That hit me hard.It made me realize how much time I waste every day just scrolling on social media, arguing in comments, replying aggressively to strangers who post hateful things. I originally created my Reddit account to learn, to grow, to be more productive. Somewhere along the way, I lost that purpose.Especially in many Asian countries, so much of social media is filled with fights over religion, politics, caste, language, and identity. People are full of anger, hate, and ego.

Everyone wants to prove their side is right. But very few are actually doing anything real to improve their own life, their family, or their community.Social media can be powerful, but it is also a huge distraction. It pulls us into drama that doesn’t add any value to our lives. And for what? To win an argument with a stranger we will never meet?

Some people spread hate, misinformation, and propaganda because it is literally their income source. They earn money from views, clicks, engagement, controversy. If we keep reacting, commenting, getting triggered, we are feeding their business. If there are no views, no engagement, their influence dies with time. That is why these platforms give us options like block, mute, and report.

Use them. You do not have to engage with every post. You do not have to reply to every comment. You do not have to carry every argument in your mind.Instead of wasting energy on hate, use social media for awareness, clarity, ideas, creativity, knowledge, and genuine connection.

Just look back, when you look back at this year, what have you really accomplished? How much of your time went into endless scrolling, arguing, and consuming negativity?Thousands of people come online every day to argue about their country, state, race, religion, and language. But how many of them are actually improving the thing they say they care about?

You do not have to change the whole world. Just start small Improve yourself.Support your family.Be kind and helpful in your community.Learn new skills.Take care of your body and mind.Do real things in the real world. Unlearn the habits that are destroying your focus. Learn new habits that build your future.

To all brothers, sisters, and everyone reading this please stop wasting your time feeding hate and useless content.

Respect fellow humans (to a healthy extent), protect your peace, and use your time wisely.Life is short. Someone out there is fighting for one more day of life, while many of us are throwing away our days arguing in comment sections.Choose better for yourself. Have a good life, and start doing things that actually matter not just posting and commenting online.
