Just got my Ghana Card & want to open my first bank account — which bank should I go for?
Hi guys,
So I finally got my Ghana Card after plenty wahala 😅 and I’m ready to open my first ever bank account.
I’ll be honest — I’m not great with money. I overspend, I make bad financial decisions, and I’m really trying to fix that this year. I’ve noticed that when your money is in a proper bank account and not just lying around on Momo, it’s harder to waste it. So I want to start doing things right.
My main concerns are: • Money security — I don’t want a situation like GN Bank happening again. • Decent interest — nothing crazy, just something better than letting my money sit idle. • A bank that’s easy to use — good app, good customer service, that kind of thing.
I’ve been seeing banks like CalBank, Access Bank, Consolidated Bank, GTBank, Fidelity, etc… but I honestly don’t know which one is best for someone who’s just starting out.
If you were in my shoes, which bank would you pick and why? I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. 🙏
