car totaled 10k payout check

Planned on filing for bankruptcy later December..my car got totaled on November 18th and now I'm getting a check for my equity. I was under the impression I had 6k in equity, but apparently not.

I'm not sure how to navigate getting a new vehicle so I can continue getting to work, currently ubering, and not looking suspicious to the trustee.
