Fit help

Hello all! As funny as it sounds i found one of my my FAVORITE pair of boots that they dont make anymore. The Justin Boots Br733- love the way they look and feel.. theyre so hard to come by, however i was lucky to find a size 9D, however i usually wear an 8 1/2D.

They’re comfortable however they’re obviously slightly roomy- the biggest issue is too much play in the heel. anyone have any tricks to help slightly bigger size boots fit better? I tried wearing 2 pairs of socks but that was just uncomfy, i tried adding in an Ariat insole from another one of my boots but that felt kinda awkward too… anyone have any magic hacks? Or should i just suck it up and build up some calluses on my pinky toe hahaha
