Hello, I just want to share my experience where I almost got into an accident last year. No one else knows about this, as I’ve been too scared to talk about it until now. I was coming home from work and it's around 11PM. I had only been riding my motorcycle for at least six months at that time. I was following this one rider from St. Dominic going southbound along Bacoor boulevard until we reached a red light on this intersection. If you are familiar with this intersection, some of you might say this is a very shitty intersection. We were in the middle lane, waiting for the green light, with cars on both sides. I wasn’t able to stop beside the rider because I was already in neutral when I reached my spot behind him. Few seconds passed, I saw the traffic light on the other end go green. The rider in front of me took off as well, so I’m sure the light was already green. As I was crossing the intersection, a van suddenly appeared from the left, trying to cross. I hit the brakes, and thankfully the van did too, stopping just a couple of feet from my rear. All I could hear were screeching tires and cars honking behind me. I looked back and was surprised to see the cars still stopped behind the pedestrian lane. When I looked forward, the light was still red with two seconds left before turning green. **The rider I was following was nowhere to be seen.** The van took off and I went on my way. Shocked by what happened, I stayed in the outer lane and kept my speed to 50 km/h at most until I reach home.

That experience made me decide to buy an action cam. I use it every time I ride my motorcycle and record my commute in case something happens again. It’s been a year since then and I now ride at my own pace, keeping my distance from other riders and being more cautious on the road.

RS.

Death used to ride a black horse on an empty road... now he rides a motorcycle, calling riders to follow.
