Breakthrough bleeding?

I got my IUD placed on the 21st, ovulated last week, now I'm getting breakthrough bleeding? My period shouldn't be for another two weeks and it's confusing me, is breakthrough bleeding a side effect? Is it because of when I got it placed? Is it because of the ovulation? Does anybody else have this problem?
