Best approach to the catch-22 of address change and job search?
I'm planning on moving to Chicago but the line of work I'm in (truck driving) doesn't really do remote interviews, so I pretty much need to have moved there in order to seriously look for a new job. Since I don't want to be locked into a year-long lease before I've found my job and had a chance to seriously compare my options on the rental market, I'm thinking of using short term, month-to-month rentals for one or two months while I get settled.
I guess my question is will such short-term rentals be eligible for use as a residency address for paperwork like transferring my out-of-state Driver's License to Illinois, stuff like that? This is the first move I'm attempting to make without having a clear-cut place to stay in my target city so I'm curious what's the best way of navigating this situation.
