Made it through the week
It's been a long, hard week for our family.
Grammy was a wonderful, beautiful soul that spent her entire life taking care of other people. The patients she cared for in her career as a nurse. Her kids, her grandkids and anyone else that ever needed a helping hand.
She chose to go the route of MAID (medically assisted death) and passed away surrounded by her kids and grandkids and very much loved.
It was her viewing yesterday.
For the second time in my marriage, I saw my husband sob and I sobbed right along with him.
Today, we had the funeral service. He played her favorite song in the world for her one last time and everyone said goodbye.
It's been a very emotional week. Many tears have been shed but we made it. We made it through her passing and her service.
In midst of it all, I began to realize how little I had allowed myself to grieve and process my oldest brothers very sudden death this June. Its all been a lot. We're exhausted, I've been trying my damndest not to be a sobbing mess.
I'm just hollow and rung out now but it'll be okay.
I will miss you Grammy and Big Brother. Christmas won't be the same without you.
