Fantasy football AITAH

ok need a ruling here. I’ll try my best to lay this out. Standard 10 person league with my high school buddies. Leagues been around since 2007. This is the last week before the playoffs. 3 of the 4 play off spots are locked in and 3 teams are fighting for the last spot. One of the teams in contention traded Terry McLaren and AJ brown to a team that is already eliminated for Christian Mccaffery. Everyone was upset about a trade this late with such huge playoff implications involving a team that is out of the race. The two guys who made the trade are arguing that since CMC is on bye this week and the eliminated team needs to win to make the toilet bowl(5th place game) 5th place is a small prize. But everyone else is on the fence about this trade. No we didn’t have a trade deadline set(by mistake) so it’s not against the “rules” but it is in bad taste. It’s very airbud “ain’t no rule says you can’t” idk it feels scummy to me and it’s a large prize for playoff championship. AITAH for calling them out
