New F150 build, how does it look?
Hey Reddit. I'm in the market for a new truck. I never owned a full-size truck, and 2026 is going to be the year Dad treats himself. After a lot of research between Chevy vs Ford vs RAM, I'm set on the F150 for a handful of reasons. I'm really torn on color choice, looking for opinions and pictures if anyone has some. I'm building an STX for delivery in March (estimated). So far, my buildsheet is as follows, and if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. I don't tow anything right now, but down the road, as my family grows and kids get older, we'd like to get some toys to haul, so I'm trying to plan for that on this build as well.
- FX4 Package w/ 2.7 Ecoboost
- Mobile Office Package (still kind of debating if this is worth it, but I think I'll be glad I got it down the road).
- Integrated Trailer Brake
- Tailgate Dampening
- Spray-In Bed Liner
- PPF
The last choice I have to make is color. I'm liking Black for a simple, blacked-out look. The Marsh Gray for something different, but I'm just worried it'll get old after a couple of years, and Carbonized Gray. Pros of Black/Carbon = no price increase. My old vehicle was white w/ black accents, and before that, Red with black accents. Both looked really good, but I want something different.
Do you know how much room I have on custom builds and what negotiation I can get? I was thinking $1000-$2500 off MSRP and possibly some free goodies?
Any options or features you wished you had purchased but didn't? Any you've bought but could maybe have lived without?
