Neurodivergence comorbid with BPD

❓Question Post

I (male) am being assessed for autism, dcd and adhd. I have felt for years I have had bpd and have previously been diagnosed with a lot of different labels. It has taken a long time to get to this position I have had a lot of assessments as well as family assessments for the neurodivergent testing.

Been in psychiatric hospital 8 times rehab once. Just as some background info so you get a view of my situation better. On 4 different medications for mental health.

So I have been with mental health teams for four years and am only now getting seen for neurodivergence by a specialist clinical psychologist. I have read the dsm5 so am well versed in a lot of the different mental health conditions I always found that BPD fit myself the best but 4 doctors came to this conclusion after a few years when I was in hospital last time I never actually mentioned it.

I am just wondering what was your experience like getting diagnosed for a neurodivergent disorder because mine seems excessively long I will not mention tests etc. because it is not helpful to you or the psychological assessor to know the tests I don’t think.

Another thing I would like to add is that I don’t like having labels per se I would like a label because I know I don’t operate at 100% or am a functioning adult. But having to say you have x y and z seems excessive and makes me uncomfortable. I would rather a straight answer to fit all of my problems into a box and point at it and say that’s it now I can deal with this one thing not 3+ different disorders.
