Sorry if ignorant

Discussion

I’m applying to a bridge program. As part of the admission requirements, they are requiring hematocrit and hemoglobin blood test to enter the program. In LPN school I was never required to do any sort of blood test just a standard physical tuberculosis and drug test plus immunizations. Are nursing schools now going to be discriminating for nurses that are anemic or what is really the purpose of this bloodwork? Sorry if it is ignorant, I just think it’s intrusive for nursing schools to ask for bloodwork im an anemic woman with pcos and endometriosis that takes iron supplements and would hate to be discriminated if my levels are low. They are not my medical provider. Any insight appreciated 💝💝
