My League is Over

My league finished up this past weekend. The team that won was consistently one of the lowest scoring teams in the league over the last 8–10 weeks. I had a great team, scoring 300 points twice, but I was eliminated two weeks ago when my players scored a combined 0 touchdowns.

This was my first experience with a guillotine league, and I absolutely loved it. The waiver wire was fascinating every week, while I paid very little attention to my teams in four other leagues.

I think what I will take from a consistently low scoring team winning the league this season is that it is not at all important to be a top scorer every week, but to focus on just beating at least one other team. If you beat one other team every week, you win the league. I’m not sure how I will apply that to the next draft or the weekly waiver wire, but I know it will be fun.
