I'm interested in a man with felonies, but have mixed feelings.

So . . . About a month ago, I met a very nice gentleman through a dating app. We met for dinner to see if there was good energy, and there was! He met all of my initial wants and needs. Fast forward to our second date, that he was thoughtful about - During dinner, he shares with me that over 15 years ago he got in trouble for some misconduct (non-violent) and ended up with two felonies. Although serious, that was his first and last time getting into legal trouble.
Here's where I am seeking input/advice . . . I've never dated someone with a record. My biggest concern is that if we were to be in a relationship, I feel that I too would carry the burden of his past and I don't know if I'm up for that . . . BUT, I'm very interested in this person. Can you weigh in? What are things to consider, good and bad?
