Advice on Child rearing and does personality actually matter?

So my child was born happy go lucky and ever since I found out I was buying her some building blocks almost every day. But then I found out that apparently personality is a really complex system of diligence gentleness and strength and the toys you give can also decrease certain attributes as well. And here I am thinking if personality actually affects anything in game because I've never noticed anything different in anyone. Unless it affects how they learn in school. Anyway she just had her entrance ceremony and I'm not interested in transferring to her yet not until I complete some goals ( like reaching 180 in all skills). There's been no change in personality so far, I keep asking her what she wants to be and currently her answer has gone back to Pudding from Child of Ena so maybe I've gone back to the beginning
