I’d like some insight on a 50 yr mortgage if it become a thing or is a thing.

I currently pay 1350 with property tax and escrow. On a 30 yr mortgage. House cost 150,000 and 7.25 interest.

Hypothetically speaking. If I turned that into say a 50 yr mortgage and got a lower payment. Of let’s say 800$ BUTTTT kept paying the 1350 a month. That would mean 550 is going towards the principle per month.

Would that 50 yr loan be paid off faster than the 30 yr mortgage ?? I know it’s all hypothetical without actual numbers.

I know on a 30 yr mortgage if you make that extra payment at the end of the year towards the principal, you could have it paid off in about 23 years. From what I was explained. But at this point Ik my life I can’t afford that extta payment a year.
