Found this notice in the break room, can a company really just issue final written warnings on whatever they please? England
For context I work part-time in a convince store and this relates to packing a shelf so much the contents bulge or over hang the shelves lip. Seems such like a mundane thing, the times I see it the price screens and promotion materials often stick out far more in comparison.
Now I have no intention to go against this "policy", but since the impression i get from the team managers is that its to do with the look of it as opposed to safety or some other more serious issue. No-one drew my attention to it either, someone not bothering to look at the inside of the door and read the notes on there could easily never see it. Also odd that it wasn't on the actual notice board.
I'm genuinely curious - would this just not be seen as poor practice on the companies part should they follow through and, further on down the line, the person gets dismissed for whatever reason because they are on final warning?
