When do we call it quits?
Before I say anything, just know that this is a fake account since I don’t want anyone in my family finding this post.
God, it hurts to say these things out loud, even though I’m just writing it to a group of strangers…
Here it goes. Me (F39) and my husband (M50) have been married for three years now and although it started out like a dream, things are going downhill and fast. Actually, I don’t know if I want to say they’re going downhill because they’re mostly just… Stagnant, if that makes sense. Like no excitement, no spark, no nothing.
I’ve been married before and he’s been in many long term relationships, and I know that the honeymoon phase has to die down eventually, but I’ve never seen any of my relationships feel so exhausting. It feels like we’re just roommates.
I want to make this work, I really do. My kids love this man, and I do to and I want to think he loves us just as much. But is it time to call it quits?
TL;DR: Married 3 years, relationship feels stagnant and exhausting. I love my husband and he loves my kids, but there’s no spark. Unsure if I should try to fix things or call it quits.
