New insurance and trying to pick a new primary care doctor. Can my parents see my MyChart?
I am 26 and have my own insurance now. I was at planned parenthood in 2022, using my college’s insurance. I was not there for an abortion so weirdo freaks stay out of the comments. I was there for birth control, which is still an absolute no go as my parents are extreme evangelicals.
I need to choose a new primary care physician, and I thought about just choosing the one I’ve always had before I went to college. However, when trying to make my account at the hospital my old PCP works at, i was met with two factor authentication to my father’s email and phone number which I could not change to my email and phone number. Does this mean that he has any access to my medical records? I know if you’re above 18 they can’t give it out or whatever, but I am still worried. Is there any way at all he can access them?
