Location pinging

Does anyone know how to remove a location ping on PS5? I tap L1 once to ping a location on the screen green. Double tap L1 to ping a location red. But once I ping them they are on the screen permanently until I ping a different location. I just want to be able to remove the ping locations instead of having old ping locations staying on the screen.
