Inconsistency of bonus words

Ran into another situation today where I got a bonus word (>!YARE!<), looked at the definition, one of the definitions was "alternate form of >!yair!<", so since >!YAIR!< was also in the puzzle I tried that too and it came up as invalid. Not the first time this type of thing has happened but it's really infuriating.
