‘Acephalous Dreams’ by Neal Asher

I listened to this one on Escape Pod. A death row convict volunteers for an experiment. He goes to a world where intelligent 'saurians' once lived. A 'node' has been found, a bit of dense picotech containing stored saurian intelligences. The con hooks up to it, can see thru animals eyes and even the golem's eyes, his human girl looking guardian. All life on the planet is networked thru picotech. The con/the saurians try to upload thru the golem (she’s an instance/meat puppet of a bigger, human derived AI that’s conducting this whole experiment) but the con/the saurians can’t get in. In the end, he has to stay and evolve with the life on this planet, in their brains. A creature draws an infinity symbol on the ground at end, just like the con did, in blood, after decapitating the priest that rped him and drew an infinity symbol with semn on him.
