4x4 issue help🥲

My 4x4 only works if I run the heater for awhile and get it super hot in the cab or in warm weather any thoughts would be super helpful. This has been an ongoing thing for a couple of years but I have time to get around to it. I have a 2002 3.0 off-road xlt.
