Day 14 - what to expect?

Mom with inoperable brain cancer has was transferred from ICU to home hospice 14 days ago.

The last time she ate was 17 days ago. Since coming home, she's had drips of water from the dental sponge swabs, liquid Ativan, liquid morphine, and nothing else.

She still has a foley catheter but has had no bowel movements in well over a week. Over the past day her urine output has decreased and turned a dark color.

One of the hospice nurses mentioned that they will need to remove her foley catheter in two weeks if she's still with us ...

Could Mom really last for two more weeks? It seems like an unbearably long time for her body to shut down.
