A huge buzz right now is around two popular names, Bishnoi and Jacob Duffy. I just don’t understand the inclusion of Bishnoi… a leg-spinner who bowls fast, barely turns the ball, and has been getting smacked left and right even on LSG pitches… how is that going to work on a belter of a road in Hyderabad?

It doesn’t make sense at all. Yes, SRH need a good leggie, but not one with a consistently high economy like Bishnoi. And for the price tag we’d have to pay easily 8–9 crore minimum it becomes even harder to justify. Bishnoi is not someone like Yuzi, who is a classical turning leg-spinner.

Bishnoi relies more on these:

* Fast, skiddy trajectory
* Heavy dependence on the googly
* Almost no leg-break turn
* 95–105 km/h darts
* Stump-to-stump lines

All of this works well on slow, gripping surfaces… but on a true Hyderabad wicket, skiddy leg-spinners with no turn will get murdered. LSG pitches have already exposed him… Hyderabad will be worse.

What kind of leggie do we actually need?
Someone who can turn the ball big leg-break or sharp off-spin… someone who can slow it down, vary pace, offer flight and dip like Chahal… or maintain discipline and change-ups like Sai Kishore. Bishnoi offers none of this. He has one speed and one variation (googly)… that’s it.

Fortunately, we got someone like Zeeshan who has all these attributes genuinely the picture-perfect leggie prototype. Trust me, if not for our bad fielding, Zeeshan would’ve had an even better economy and even more wickets.

Coming to Jacob Duffy… I still have my questions on him too. Yes, he’s doing well in NZ and overseas at the moment… but again, he’s a seamer who relies entirely on nibble and seam movement. He bowls hard lengths at 130–138 km/h with the new ball… and doesn’t really have slower-ball variations. On a pitch like Hyderabad, we *need* a bowler with off-cutters, leg-cutters, slower balls…

On belter surfaces:

* Hard length sits perfectly for hitting
* Good-length seamers get driven, punched, and lofted
* Batters can hit through the line confidently

And Duffy bowls exactly the length Indian batters want that 6–8m good length at 132–138 km/h. It’s the perfect zone to be smoked for boundaries. In NZ/Eng that length is dangerous… in Hyderabad, it’s a scoring zone. Also kiwi pacers take a lot of time getting settled to Indian conditions.

What kind of bowler do we require, then?
Someone who can bowl:

* Changes of pace
* Cutters
* Variations
* Off-pace bouncers
* The ability to “hold” the ball on slow surfaces

Even if we’re looking for a powerplay bowler, death-bowling skills from ball one are what Hyderabad demands now. Gone are the days when Bhuvi and Boult could swing it for three overs. If you get a chance, read Karthik Krishnaswamy’s analysis “How LSG Mute SRH with Death Bowling”… it breaks down exactly the kind of bowling strategy SRH will need going into 2026.

A bowler like Prasidh Krishna… I know people will troll me just for saying his name… but if you actually see what he does, his skill-set works *only* in the IPL and domestic T20s not in internationals. Because he bowls all over the place… in one over he might bowl a yorker, then a fuller ball, then a hard length, then a bouncer… that unpredictability works in T20 leagues where batters want to attack. But in international cricket, batters are more patient… they’ll wait and then take you apart if you try 10 different things.

The Management is going to back Unadkat and try to get a good Indian domestic pacer on whom Varun Arron has been consistently working to find... I think Auqib Nabi types of pacers are whom we are going to target.

But as far as i have heard SRH management is going to go hard on acquiring 2 Good OS all-rounders and then rest of the 10 Slots getting filled with indian domestic talent and some backups...

Trust me, we are going to bring another Aniketh Verma, Nitish Reddy type of young talent from the domestic in our pace bowling.

Bishnoi and Duffy to SRH? Sorry, But This Makes Zero Sense…
