Will my retainer last 8 weeks or should I switch to night only?

hi all! I’ve been doing 2 wk tray swaps and am on retainer 13. My ortho just did a rescan and I’m going back for new retainers in 6 weeks. I was told to switch to just wearing at night during the 6 wks given the retainers can break. I‘ve started doing so but my retainers are tight when I put them on at night (which also seems like it could be bad for the plastic?). I’m curious how long others have worn their retainers without issues and/or whether you switched to nights during the waiting period. Also for context, I usually clean them twice daily using an ultrasonic cleaner. thanks
