The beginning feels off...

Played about 3-4h, first playthrough, bought a new PC 6 months ago after beeing 9 years with only a desktop with integrated graphics on motherboard ( Brazil mid-range hardware price is for the top 1% only) so i am completing my long list of "old games".
There is something wrong with shadow of mordor. First mission is the prologue where you get killed at the end. Brief cutscene and then BAM, you spawn in a tower, jump down and start mowing orcs. Talion and the elf seems familiarized with their situation. Everything is different know but nobody makes any comment. Another random character said at one point "Its been 10 years since i last saw you" and Talion is like "ok, whatever".
I am missing something? It looks like i´ve been thrown from the prologue into the middle of the story. My map is all over the place. A bunch of objectives that dont correlate with each other. Main Story missions really makes me think Talion and the Elf are best bros and have been talking for ages but from my POV, Talion beeing killed and everything else happening was 10 seconds tops.
